Overview:
Although Disco may be considered to be “dead” after the infamous Disco Demolition Night in 1979, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Disco’s prevalence in today’s day and age can be seen today through its influence on other musical genres (e.g. house music, techno, EDM), its effects on the LGBTQ+ community in giving them a safe space for them to continue to thrive today, and in the NYC nightlife with dance clubs, which also often hold Disco-themed nights. Disco is still well and alive today, so here is a list of some active Disco artists and venues!
